Honeymoon Hotspot: Cinque Terre, Italy

10 Jun

For those of you who don’t know, Amy and Lindsay actually met while studying abroad in Italy.  During our time in Italy, we happened on some amazing locations.  And while visiting Venice, Rome and Florence are great highlights of an Italian vacation, we wanted to call your attention to the most picturesque location in Italy (in my opinion).  Cinque Terre is five small villages connected by train and trails, which are both fun ways to explore!  There is little car traffic, which adds to the ambiance as well.

WHERE IN THE WORLD?  Cinque Terre is located in the northwest part of Italy, right on the sea.

HOW DO I GET THERE?  There are plenty of flights from Southern California to Italy.  Fly into Cannes, France, Florence or San Remo and take the train.  It’s fairly easy from there.

WHY GO?  Cinque Terre is romantic and allows honeymooners to connect without overloading you with the typical “must see” checklist.  You will enjoy beautiful scenery, relaxing meals and seaside culture.  Make this 2-3 days of an overall Italy vacation.

WHAT’S IT GOING TO COST ME?  Hotels cost anywhere from $100-$500 per night, depending on what you are looking for.  It is a mid-range destination as far as cost goes.

BEST FOR: Romantics, those who want to relax, anyone who loves taking photography.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: Hotels here book fast, so make sure to do your research on properties and book early for this destination.  Also, the pace of life here is slow, so don’t expect an action packed vacation.
